Tasting Notes
The Douglas Laing Scallywag Noir Edition is a dark, indulgent interpretation of Speyside malt whisky — finished predominantly in rich Pedro Ximénez sherry casks from Jerez, Spain. It combines the playfulness of Scallywag’s fox-terrier mascot with deep, brooding complexity.
Expect a velvety wave of dark fruits, cocoa, molasses, and spiced oak. On the palate, layers of black cherries, sherry-soaked raisins, ripe figs and dark chocolate unfold, carried by warming spice. Bottled at natural cask strength (52.8%), with no colouring or chill-filtration, this limited release is long, lush and powerfully sherried.

About the Producer
Douglas Laing & Co. has been one of Scotland’s most respected independent whisky houses since 1948, renowned for bottling single-cask malts and character-led small batches. The Scallywag range highlights Speyside’s iconic distilleries — including Macallan, Glenrothes and Mortlach — blended for richness, texture and personality.
The Noir Edition amplifies this style through extensive aging in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, delivering a whisky that is both playful and profoundly dark — a decadent, winter-ready Speyside malt.
Food Pairing
A sublime match with dark chocolate truffles, pecan pie, roasted nuts, sticky toffee pudding or aged Gouda. Ideal as a fireside nightcap or after-dinner showstopper.
