Tasting Notes
The Douglas Laing Timorous Beastie Madeira Cask Edition is an adventurous Highland blended malt — finished for several months in exquisite Madeira casks that amplify its depth, sweetness and texture. Created as part of Douglas Laing’s “mighty mouse” exploration into the perfect whisky-and-cheese pairing, this limited release showcases a new richness layered over the classic Timorous Beastie style.
The nose reveals ripe orchard fruit, honey, toasted almonds and soft florals. The palate is silky and expressive, with caramelised apples, toffee, juicy prunes and gentle spice. The finish lingers warmly with sweet vanilla, orange marmalade and subtle oak. Bottled at 48%, with no colouring or chill-filtration, allowing the natural Highland spirit to shine.
