2020 Domaine Emmanuel Giboulot Cote de Beaune La Grande Chatelaine
Tasting Notes
The 2020 Domaine Emmanuel Giboulot Côte de Beaune “La Grande Châtelaine” is a refined, mineral-driven white Burgundy from mid-slope vineyards on the Montagne de Beaune. Clay-limestone soils with pebbles on bedrock give a precise and vibrant profile: lemon zest, green apple, white flowers and a fine chalky edge.
Whole-bunch pressing, fermentation in older oak barrels and 12 months of lees ageing add gentle creaminess and texture without masking the purity of the fruit. Elegant, saline and long on the finish.

About the Producer
Based on the slopes of the Montagne de Beaune, Domaine Emmanuel Giboulot is renowned for pure, terroir-expressive Burgundy. “La Grande Châtelaine” takes its name from an old medieval sharecropping contract (“legrand de cheptel”) and comes from a low-lying, mid-slope parcel that overlooks the valley between Beaune and Bouze-lès-Beaune. Precision in the vines and gentle élevage in older barrels preserve tension, minerality and finesse.
Food Pairing
A natural match for shellfish, grilled fish, and roast poultry. Also excellent with hard cheeses like Comté or Mimolette. Serve around 10–12 °C to highlight the citrus and mineral backbone.
