2023 Chateau Moncontour Vouvray Sec Les Chapelles
Tasting Notes
Fruity, dry and finely textured, the 2023 Vouvray Sec “Les Chapelles” shows crisp Chenin Blanc character—green apple, ripe pear and lemon zest—layered over a gently creamy palate from barrel fermentation. Bright acidity keeps things lifted and precise, finishing mineral and clean. Serve well-chilled (≈8 °C).
“This wine is fruity, with a creamy texture and balanced acidity—great with the delicate flavors of Cantonese dishes. Perfect on its own and with white meat, chicken, and steamed seafood.” — Olivia, PENTICTON

About the Producer
Founded in the 11th century, Chateau Moncontour is one of the Loire Valley’s oldest estates, perched above the Loire River in Vouvray. Working primarily with Chenin Blanc, the domaine ferments this cuvée with natural yeasts, including a portion in oak barrels, to bring texture while preserving freshness and the region’s signature chalky minerality.
Food Pairing
A natural match for Cantonese cuisine—steamed fish, stir-fried prawns, soy-poached chicken—and equally at home with roasted poultry or soft cheeses. The wine’s bright acidity and subtle creaminess complement delicate flavors beautifully.
