2020 Domaine A.F. Gros Moulin-à-Vent en Mortperay
Tasting Notes
The 2020 Domaine A.F. Gros Moulin-à-Vent “En Mortperay” is a refined and expressive Gamay from one of Beaujolais’ most powerful crus. The warm, sunny 2020 vintage gives remarkable depth: lifted aromas of violets, red cherry, raspberry and crushed rose petals, leading into a palate that begins with Pinot-Noir-like elegance before building into the signature structure of Moulin-à-Vent.
Silky tannins, vibrant fruit, and a long mineral finish define this wine. Juicy yet composed, it beautifully combines charm and age-worthy backbone. A standout vintage for this now-iconic Gros family cuvée.

About the Producer
From the esteemed Vosne-Romanée Gros family, Domaine A.F. Gros brings Burgundian finesse to the granitic slopes of Moulin-à-Vent. The estate purchased 3.8 hectares in the historic En Mortperay lieu-dit in 2017, including parcels of 60-year-old vines. Grapes are vinified in Beaune using gentle extractions and partial whole-bunch fermentation to preserve perfume and purity. Aging in a combination of large foudres and small oak barrels adds texture without overwhelming the fruit.
The result is a Gamay that sits beautifully between Beaujolais vitality and Burgundy refinement — expressive, layered, and cellar-worthy.
Food Pairing
Superb with duck breast, charcuterie, mushroom risotto, roast chicken, or lightly grilled meats. Also pairs well with truffle dishes and umami-rich vegetarian cuisine. Serve slightly chilled (15–16°C).
