"One of the finest wines I've tasted from this estate is the 2019 Côte Rôtie La Giroflarie, a blend of 96% Syrah and 4% Viognier that comes from 11 different parcels spread throughout the appellation. Its ruby/purple hue is followed by a youthful, ripe, incredibly promising bouquet of black raspberries, rendered bacon fat, Asian spice, ground pepper, and spring flowers. It has subtle background oak, full-bodied richness, an exotic, singular profile, and just about flawless balance. This gorgeous Côte Rôtie shows the ripe style of the vintage yet still brings balance, purity, and elegance" (2/2022)
