Domaine Julien Pilon Saint-Peray Les Maisons de Victor Blanc 2017
Julien Pilon is a winegrower from the Northern Rhône Valley, in Chavanay.
His range of wines comprises appellations from the northern Rhône valley: the Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Peray, Saint-Joseph, Hermitage and Condrieu for the white wines. Then, Saint-Joseph, Cornas and Côte-Rôtie for the red wines.
This cuvée is a blend of three plots, all located in the commune of Saint-Péray. The first is on the lower slopes at the northern entrance to the village, while the other two are on south-east facing hillsides. The difference in terroir and exposure allows for greater complexity in the blend. Aged 10 months in oak barrels with 15% of new oak.
This is a white wine with high aromatic intensity and sophistication.
