2021 Château de Pibarnon Bandol Rouge

Tasting Notes
One of Bandol’s most iconic reds. The 2021 Château de Pibarnon is deep ruby with a brooding nose of dark plum, blackberry, garrigue, leather, and smoked meat. On the palate, bold and structured with powerful yet refined tannins, full body, and a long, spiced, mineral finish. A wine built for the cellar — extraordinary now, even better in 5–10 years.

About the Producer
Château de Pibarnon is widely regarded as the finest estate in Bandol, Provence’s most celebrated red wine appellation. Perched at 300m altitude on unique Triassic limestone soils, the de Saint-Victor family farms 50 hectares of old-vine Mourvèdre with extraordinary care. The result is wines of rare depth, complexity, and longevity — consistently among the finest reds in all of France.
Food Pairing
This bold, structured Bandol demands equally bold food. Try it with slow-braised lamb shoulder with herbs de Provence, Peking duck, soy-glazed short ribs, or a rich daube de boeuf. The garrigue and leather notes sing with aged hard cheeses and charcuterie. Serve at 17–18°C.
