Rhone Valley Wine
As Hemingway wrote: "Wine is one of the most civilised things in the world … and it offers a greater range for enjoyment and appreciation than, possibly, any other purely sensory thing."
Rhone Valley is the paradise of French wine lovers. It is one of the most ancient wine-growing areas with 2,000+ years of history (YES, you are reading it right), the home to the wines of the Popes (Chateauneuf-du-Pape), Ernest Hemingway's favourite Rosé wine (Tavel) and the grape varieties (Grenache, Syrah, GSM blend, Viognier...just to name a few) which now planted all over the world.
Rhone Valley - the 2nd largest wine AOC (Appellation d'Origine Côntrolée - delimited area) is divided into Northern Rhone and Southern Rhone. While the Northern part is well-known for primarily single-varietal red and white wines, the Southern part is specialised in blends including GSM, GSMC and Marsanne.
