2023 Domaine Marcel Deiss Alsace Complantation Classic Blanc

Tasting Notes
The Complantation is Marcel Deiss’s most emblematic wine — a field blend of multiple Alsace varieties co-planted and co-harvested on the same parcel, expressing terroir over grape variety. The 2023 is pale gold with a complex, layered nose of white blossom, ripe pear, citrus zest, and subtle spice. On the palate, fresh and textural with vibrant acidity, a silky mouthfeel, and a long, mineral, saline finish. A wine of rare complexity and elegance for its level.

About the Producer
Domaine Marcel Deiss is one of Alsace’s most visionary and celebrated estates, led by the iconoclastic Jean-Michel Deiss. A pioneer of the complantation philosophy — co-planting multiple varieties in the same vineyard to express terroir rather than grape variety — Deiss has fundamentally changed how the world thinks about Alsace wine. Certified biodynamic, the domaine farms with deep respect for the land, producing wines of extraordinary complexity, longevity, and sense of place.
Food Pairing
This fresh, complex white loves aromatic Asian dishes and rich poultry. Try it with Alsatian choucroute, roasted pork with apple, steamed crab, or a creamy Munster cheese. The layered spice and citrus notes make it a stunning match for Thai green curry or Cantonese steamed fish. Serve at 10–12°C.
