Maison Thiriet Vezelay Champs Cervin 2020
Why we love it
As part of my journey to find female winemakers and up-and-coming winemaking rock stars around the world - I was introduced to Camille Thiriet in Burgundy. What an energetic, stylish young lady! This is a unique style, and I still cannot find an appellation that offers something similar!
Vézelay is very close to Chablis, in Yonne. This is a new AOC created in 2017 with potential for expansion~ Nice.
For Vézelay 2020, I enjoyed the floral notes, high tone of just riped small pears and peaches, followed by a touch of menthol. This wine has a lot of tension; it is dense with lively acidity, fine minerality, subtle salinity, and opulent mid-palate.
This is almost an all-rounded indulgence: light apetizer, fine seafood in cold & warm preparation to white meat. If you are a fan of Chassagne-Montrachet, Chablis Crus to cream textured Chardonnay, you don't want to miss this one.
