Tasting Notes
One of Savigny-lès-Beaune’s most celebrated 1er Crus. The 2023 Maratray-Dubreuil Les Vergelesses is deep ruby with a bold nose of dark cherry, blackcurrant, spice, and earthy minerality. On the palate, classic and structured with firm, grippy tannins, vibrant acidity, and a long, powerful, Burgundian finish.

About the Producer
Domaine Maratray Dubreuil is a family estate based in Ladoix-Serrigny at the northern tip of the Côte de Beaune, farming some of the most prestigious Grand Cru and 1er Cru parcels in the appellation — including Corton-Charlemagne, Aloxe-Corton, and Ladoix. Known for precise, terroir-driven wines of real elegance, Maratray Dubreuil is one of the Côte de Beaune’s most reliable family domaines.
Food Pairing
This bold, classic 1er Cru demands hearty, flavourful dishes. Try it with slow-roasted rack of lamb with rosemary, Cantonese roast duck, soy-braised beef short ribs, or a rich wild mushroom risotto. The firm tannins and mineral depth make it stunning with aged Epoisses. Serve at 16–18°C.
