Tasting Notes
A beautiful Crozes-Hermitage from a benchmark estate, sourced from the oldest vineyard in the appellation — acquired by Jaboulet in 1834. The nose opens with dark berries, plums, spice, and a touch of black olive, evoking classic Northern Rhône character. Full-bodied and exquisitely balanced on the palate, with well-integrated tannins and a harmonious, elegant finish. A cellar-worthy classic built for 15+ years.

About the Producer
Domaine Paul Jaboulet Aîné is one of the greatest names in the Rhône Valley, founded in 1834 by Antoine Jaboulet. Best known for the legendary La Chapelle — whose 1961 vintage is among the greatest wines ever made — the estate was revived by the Frey family in 2006, who brought it back to its rightful place as the first growth of the Rhône. The iconic Domaine de Thalabert is the oldest vineyard site in Crozes-Hermitage.
Food Pairing
This rich, intense Syrah demands bold, classic dishes. Try it with slow-braised beef bourguignon, roasted rack of lamb with herbs, Peking duck, or a truffle-laced risotto. The fine-grained tannins and mineral depth make it stunning with aged hard cheeses. Serve at 17–18°C.
They Love It Too!
94/100 Jeb Dunnuck — “Loads of chocolaty black fruits, ground pepper, truffle, and smoked game, as well as a hint of black olives... medium to full-bodied, has a rocking texture, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It’s a classic example of this wine and terroir. Drink it over the coming 15 years or so.”
92/100 James Suckling — “Sanguine aromas of chocolate, iron and dark berries. Real richness and a plush feel on the palate with a fine, elongated tannin drive. Super sleek. Great density and focus here. Will age very well.”
92/100 Wine Advocate — “Marked by scents of licorice, plum and cassis... full-bodied, with a fine sense of balance, a crisp finish and slightly drying tannins.”
