Tasting Notes
A hidden gem from the Côte de Beaune. The 2023 Doreau Monthélie 1er Cru is ruby-bright with a classic nose of red cherry, wild strawberry, dried rose, and earthy spice. On the palate, savory and elegant with silky tannins, bright acidity, and a long, mineral, Burgundian finish. Pure Pinot Noir at its most refined and food-friendly.

About the Producer
Domaine Doreau has been passed from father to son since the late 19th century, when Pierre Doreau arrived in Monthélie to help replant vines after phylloxera. Today, Jérôme and Emilie Doreau manage the six-hectare organic estate, certified HVE Level 3 in 2019. Vines are hand-harvested, manually ploughed, and fermented in vats with daily punch-downs — a true family domaine built on generations of quiet excellence.
Food Pairing
This savory, classic Burgundy loves elegant, earthy dishes. Try it with roasted duck breast with cherry jus, Cantonese soy-braised pigeon, pan-seared salmon with mushroom cream, or a classic coq au vin. The silky tannins make it stunning with aged Comté and truffle dishes. Serve at 14–16°C.
