Why we love it
In preparation for the Hong Kong Le GourMay France’s theme of Loire Valley, I went to look for an aromatically expressive, rich in apricot and, of course, a sweet wine from the Loire Valley. This coincides with my personal desire to look for the most original sweet wine options in France.
In the centre of France, Loire Valley is uniquely resting along a river extending over 800km. This geography helps to moderate the temperature and creates an extra-ordinary setting for noble rots to cultivate.
This gem is from the Chateau Moncontour - It is one of the oldest Chateaux in the Loire Valley made from 100% Chenin Blanc grape, handpicked and only produce in the best years!
Our Tasting Notes
Beautiful golden colour, hints of toasted almond, dry apricot, crisscrossed with an array of pear, exotic pineapple and white flower aromas. Complex and excellent for ageing.
