Menetou Salon Rouge Tradition 2017
Why we love it
The Loire is the back garden of France, the birthplace of the Renaissance of France. With its rich history, I am intrigued to find an interesting ready-to-drink red wine here. I like Pinot Noir a lot but want to find something that is fuller body than a Burgundy Pinot Noir yet with a more fruit forward nose - this is my personal preference! I introduce to you Domaine Chavet from Menetou-Salon. A house that has not changed hands since the 17th century.
This Pinot Noir from Domaine Chavet, Mentou-Salon Rouge 2017, is a classic style of Pinot Noir from the center of France. Aromatically expressive with layers of red & black cherries, concentrated with wool-texture tannins from Kimmeridgian soil. A lovely mono-varietal expression - no matters what time of the day.
