Domaine de la Côte de Berne Brouilly 2017
Why we love it
Brouilly is the largest (~20% of total Cru footprint) and most Southernly Cru in Beaujolais, often characterises by its fine texture and flavour intensity. This is also the ONLY cru where it is permitted to cultivate different varietals - Pinot Noir (Red), Chardonnay (White), Aligoté (White) and Melon de Bourgogne (White), as well as the dominant Gamay (Red).
The schist and granite terroir gives a slight smoked minerality to their delicate and fragrant wines. Full of ripe fruit aromas of red cherry, raspberry and peony, it brings an earthy fruit and bright acidity to a spicy tuna steak.
Domaine de la Côte de Berne has been in Beaujolais for 5 generations, specialises in creating multi-awards winner in authentic Beaujolais styles. This cuvée, is a perfect match for a cozy gathering, and is great to drink fresh!
