Chateau Coudray-Montpensier Chinon Rouge 2018
Why we love it
Loire Valley is the home of 24 iconic grape varieties; and Cabernet Franc is amongst one of them.
Crafted to be consumed young, this Chinon red (100% Cabernet Franc) wine has a robust aroma of black-currents, black fruit and hints of dry leaves & vanilla, fine tannins, with a touch of asian spices at the end-palate.
I really enjoy its refreshing acidity. Serving it slightly chilled or at air conditioned temperature (20 -22 degrees roughly) brings out different palate texture and aroma intensity.
The winemaker loves the pairing with white meat, even cheddar and gouda cheese. I say, it is perfect with the signature Cantonese stirred-fry dishes.
