Why we love it
We all know the French are pretty meticulous about their wines and how they are made. We can all probably name a few famous French houses no matter if you are a new wine drinker or connoisseur.
Located in the Southern part of Champagne (It is almost 2-hour drive from Reims), that is where the most exciting new region - Côte des Bar. Popularity has grown significantly during the last decades. Many houses used to sell their grapes to large negociants or wineries to have world-class Champagne made. Because it is so close to Chablis, Burgundy; you can expect the soil to be rich in Kimmeridgian soil with a very delicate texture. That makes Côte des Bar a fantastic location for Pinot Noir. Burgundy lovers, isn't it awesome?
I met with Gruet family in Hong Kong and immediately fell in love with what their collection has to offer. From rare-grape like Arbane, traditional Rosé de Saignée to celebrating the fruitiness of Pinot Noir, each cuvée takes on a unique personality which you can be guaranteed there will be a perfect one for the next wine moment.
