Why we love it
Rhone Valley is the home of many local varieties, such as Syrah. It is planted in many regions, from Australia to France. I particularly like the French expression because of its intensively rich and spicy characters as they go perfectly well with Asian cuisines with high notes of spices.
You might have already tried dry, red wine made from Syrah. I want to introduce you to an uncommon expression, which is sweet produced using the traditional Botrytis or passerilled techniques. It is definitely not the everyday sweet wine, but a complex expression with the classic jammy notes of prunes and mild spices and a fresh length.
It goes perfectly with blue cheese, cold cuts or aperitifs. Let it matures in the cellar up to 10 years for enhanced texture.
